Belgicia Cowart
CB2TB Event Coordinator
Belgicia grew up in a family where those who were able served in the military. She was fortunate to be raised an Army brat and gain the experiences she did from that lifestyle. She then went on to join the military herself. Her time spent in the Army as a reservist is where she learned the importance of faith, hard work and service. She worked her way through college as a Biology/Chemistry pre med student at Georgia Southern University. After being medically retired from the Army due to paralysis in her arm she took her life in a different direction. She began to dedicate her life to serving her country in a different way… this time through compassion, education, advocacy, and community service. It has been her life mission to give back to her community and help others.Â
She serves as a Victims Advocate, Spokesperson, and Public Speaker to schools, universities, women’s groups, churches and through her personal blog. She is currently writing her autobiography. She has also served as a volunteer for the Georgia Office of Victim Services and State Board of Pardons and Paroles. She currently serves on the Sterling Creek Park steering Committee, is the Vice Chair for the School Council of Carver Elementary, Richmond Hill Primary, and Richmond Hill Elementary schools in Richmond Hill, Georgia. As an Alumna for her sorority Alpha Omicron Pi she has held many positions including a chapter advisor on up to the collegiate relations chair for all the Georgia chapters. She has served on the boards of several non-profit groups in the Atlanta area leading the way in event planning, coordinating, and fundraising. She is the local Delta Airlines representative for the group Women in Aviation International.Â
She has been happily married to her college sweetheart Spencer for 22 years. She is the mother of four children, and raising her kids has been her highest honor. The importance of giving back, helping others, and serving one’s country are values she insisted be instilled in her children. Her oldest son is a Marine and her middle son is going to be a pilot in the Air Force. Service… it’s more than a word to her – it’s a mission. A way of life.
